Like a long lost British heavy rock classic from 1970 on the Vertigo label. Josiah has that sound down cold. Think of 1970’s Sabbath, Motorhead, Uriah Heep, and Josiah! These guys rock hard and take no prisoners, and it’s just three of them. The songs are potent slices of that point in time where the harder they rocked, the better the world was for it. Echoes of days long gone, when prog rock didn’t have that name yet, and the established heavy metal sound was still a decade away. Josiah is certainly capable of shredding with the best of them, and the compositions have enough sharp corners, labyrinths and switchbacks to keep it interesting all the way through. Vocals are powerful and commanding, always dead on key and right in your face. Add to it all some authentic sounding late 60s/early 70s production, and there will be no doubt about it: You’ve gone back in a proto metal time machine. – Expose

On their 3rd studio album Josiah celebrate the finest dirty and hard Fuzzrock. Heavy riffs which remind of the birth of Heavy Metal in the early 70s, grooving, dry and direct. This is their darkest album so far with lyrics focussing on all the weird and frightening things that surround us today, the music reflecting the threatening apocalypse. And with this Sie Beasley (Bass/vocals), Mat Bethancourt (Guitar/vocals) and Keith Beacom (Drums) transport the sound and feeling of the early Heavy Rock into now. In the meantime they became one of the leading British bands in the international Stoner- and Fuzzrock scene.

“”UK power trio Josiah are back with another impeccable hard rocking album. These guys are not only talented musicians, but they’re even stronger songwriters. For hair swinging, riff-based metal with plenty of fuzzy distortion, wah pedals, and a thunderous rhythm section, they simply can’t be beat. The grooves are irresistible, and needless to say they’re not afraid of the cowbell. This is superb value: bright, well-produced, and beautifully played, cleaving to the values that made (and make) rock great. Recommended!””

Oh yes! This is what rock and roll is all about. Album number three from Josiah is an absolute peach with more riffs forced into the nine tracks than you would have though scientifically possible.

They’ve certainly upped their game here as the groove drenched fuzz rock kicks off with the high octane ‘Looking At The Mountain’ and never let’s go. They revisit the genres Sabbath roots in places with ‘No Time’ being the one most in thrall but Messre bethancourt, Beasley and Beacom have started to pull away from the pack with some fantastic tunes. It’s an album rich with gems that should appeal to anyone with one foot in the rawk, and if there was any justice in the world, this should see Josiah stepping out into the spotlight of success. Elektrohasch have done us all a favour by picking them up and, as a special treat, will be rereleasing the first two, hard to find, Josiah albums in July.
