“Mask of Smiles was the follow up album to John Waite’s No Brakes Album which itself spawned a number one single in Missing You and a follow up hit Tears. Although a very good album itself Mask of Smiles did not have the same chart Success. For whatever reason this album got lost in the shuffle of the 1980’s and that’s a pity. Mask of Smiles is a very good album Chart wise Every Step of the Way was a top twenty hit but other songs on the album notably Lust for Life and Just like Lovers should have been top 40 contenders as well. The album also contained great Rock Radio tracks in Laydown and ironically a song titled No Brakes, the title of Waite’s previous album. A nice piece of 80’s Rock worth checking Out.
