B SIDE – TERRY REID – GIMME SOME LOVIN’.  first recorded by the Spencer Davis Group. Released as a single in 1966, it reached the Top 10 of the record charts in several countries. Later, Rolling Stone included the song on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs.

Deal for Life” is a song by English musician John Waite, which was released in 1990 on the soundtrack to the Tom Cruise film Days of Thunder. The song was written by Martin Page and Bernie Taupin, and produced by Page and Ron Nevison.

“Deal for Life” was the sixth and final single to be issued from the soundtrack and reached No. 80 in the UK Singles Chart in December 1990.  The song’s release as a single was included as a ‘priority release’ for Epic in the spring of 1991.

Critical reception

On its release as a single, Jennifer Grant of the Perthshire Advertiser considered the song “absolute guff” and “anonymous American rawk”.

Production

nicknamed “Superlungs”, Terry is an English rock vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist best known for his emotive style of singing in appearances with high-profile musicians as vocalist, supporting act and session musician. As a solo recording and touring artist, he has released six studio albums and four live albums. His songs have been recorded by numerous artists including The HolliesCrosby, Stills & NashJackson BrowneArrivalMarianne FaithfullCheap TrickJack White with The RaconteursJoe PerryRumer and Chris Cornell.

Reid’s music career began in the early 1960s performing in a local British club where he was invited to join Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers as lead vocalist, opening for The Rolling Stones 1966 tour. In the latter ’60s, Reid was the solo supporting act for the Rolling Stones, CreamJethro Tull and Fleetwood Mac tours. He is known to have turned down an offer by Jimmy Page to be the lead vocalist of the band that became Led Zeppelin as well as an offer from Ritchie Blackmore to front Deep Purple.
