Jan Rosol

Escaped to England from occupied France in 1941 and joined the Free French Forces.
Recorded for the Polygon label in the U.K. in the early 1950s. Some of his recordings from these sessions were issued in Denmark and Australia around the same time.
He also broadcast for the BBC from the late 1940s to the 1960s. He decided to dedicate himself to French folk music. But he was probably best known as a broadcaster, singing and playing regularly for the Home, Light and Third programme networks of the BBC and from 1948 performed every week in various programmes for schools.
