Deep Purple vocalists, Magic was the last album in October 1982 by Gillan (the band) and featured Gillan himself, Janick Gers (guitar), John McCoy (bass), Colin Towns (keyboards), and Mark Underwood (drums). After a tour to promote the album, Ian Gillan broke up the band in order to join Black Sabbath for a year, then joining the reformed Mark Two line-up Deep Purple in 1984.
