They are Dutch, they are young, and they look so bad that your mum could have a heart attack only by meeting them in the street there’s even one of the guys who’s so scary that he’s hiding behind a FLNC mask. They? But whom? Well, the brutal fucks from HOUWITSER, who keep on destroying our face and ears year after year since the famous “”Death But Not Buried””. Still, I have to admit it, I was not really impatient to listen to “”Damage Assessment””. But once I changed my mind, it was only to receive a more severe punishment, because this album kicks some ass and made my ears bleed, with its eight tracks of fat and blasted Death/Grind, full of Thrash Metal touches.
When you also know that 50% of the band also play in SINISTER, then you’ll understand that these guys are no beginners, and that they know how to write tracks so that you will feel like jumping everywhere and hit your head against the wall. It’s powerful as fuck, very well done, and clearly, “”Damage Assessment”” will remain as one of the Death Metal references of the year 2003

One of my favorite death metal albums
Great speed changes, riffs and brutality. War and machine gun intros from the movie predator with Arnold!

Very good metal album.
I began listening to Houwitser last year. since then, i picked up all of their albums. one things for sure, if you are picky on the quality of the recording, damage assessment is their best (all of their albums are good). catchy riffs, good speed from mid-pace to full on assault. every song has a machine gun intro. if you like Vomitory, give this album a try. Holland and Sweden definitely have some of the best death/ grind metal bands around.
