Hardline headlined “The Gods Festival” in Bradford, England in 2002.  This CD version contains 3 bonus tracks originally for Hardline II, “Hypnotized”, “Only a Night (acoustic Version)” and “Mercy”. This is the Hardline I love. That magical “Johnny” voice…and the bonus songs are wonderful. Nice loud identifiable sound that sure is a little rough, but still a great energetic listen! One could argue that it should sound cleaner for a band who in the studio are so deliberately slick… but hell its pure live, not an overdubbed work of fiction. The guitars are crisp and upfront and the vocals are clear and well-delivered. Johnny can hold his own on stage. He has a very strong voice. He has the attitude to go along with it too…. “Only A Night” in its acoustic version is a beautiful studio recording.

the Hardline we love. The magical “Johnny” voice…and the bonus songs are wonderful. it’s pure live, not an overdubbed work of fiction.  guitars are crisp and upfront and the vocals are clear and well-delivered…  Basically it’s a decent *genuine* live album. To put it into perspective, in terms of sound, energy, production and performance, this is along the lines of Cinderella Live at the Key Club, Britny Fox Longway to Live or Lita Ford Live Greatest Hits; that nice loud identifiable sound that sure, is a little rough, but still a great energetic listen! If it were a bootleg it’d be an A-grade, as a label-release its a B+. Use your own tastes & experience to determine how slick you demand a live album!
