f**k modern shredders. this is truly on that wild edge. Even he could probably never play his leads quite like this again. but who cares? that’s what great about the best rock and jazz players. they push it to the limit and hang over the precipice of disaster…but just about get away with it, by the skin of their teeth. there’s absolutely nothing like hearing someone almost crash & burn.
none in popular music in the 80’s played like Gary Moore either. the solo in this is one of the most crazily, passionate, frenzied, aggressive ever. i defy anyone to play this solo or those in ‘out in the fields’ or ‘wishing well’. impossible. his picking was so clear and his fingers were like little hammers on the strings.
the first G.M recordings to feature former UFO guitarist/keyboardist Neil Carter and bassist Bob Daisley. It was also the last to feature bassist Neil Murray, who rejoined Whitesnake, and drummer Ian Paice, who re-joined the reformed Deep Purple in 1984.

Look at you, a fool in love.
A man too blind to see.
You never ask yourself why they all leave you.
You try to play so many games.
You give yourself away.
And then you wonder why no one believes you.
You’ve got to realise
That this is goin’ nowhere.
You’ve got to understand
That there’s so much you can share.
You know you’ve got to hold on to love
If you wanna learn to forget your sorrow.
You’ve got to hold on to love
Like there’s no tomorrow.
Look at you, a fool in love.
A man too blind to see.
You never ask yourself why they all hurt you.
You try to hide behind your lies.
You give yourself away.
And then you wonder why they all desert you.
You know you’ve got to hold on to love
If you wanna learn to forget your sorrow.
You’ve got to hold on to love
Like there’s no tomorrow.
You know you’ve got to hold on to love
If you’ve got to beg, steal or borrow.
You’ve got to hold on to love
Like there’s no tomorrow.
You’ve got to realize
That this is goin’ nowhere.
You’ve got to understand
That there’s so much you can share.
You know you’ve got to hold on to love
If you wanna learn to forget your sorrow.
You’ve got to hold on to love
Like there’s no tomorrow.
You better learn to hold on to love
If you’ve got to beg, steal or borrow.
You’ve got to hold on to love
Like there’s no tomorrow.
You know you’ve got to
Hold on, hold on, hold on,
Keep holdin’ on.
Hold on to love like there’s no tomorrow.
There’ll be a prize to pay,
If your love runs away.
Hold on, hold on,
Hold on to love.
