The riffs on Dripping In Blood are delivered in short, sharp shocks. Static abounds. DEFLORATION play it straight down the line, avoiding constant blast and eschewing any frivolity. Groove is allowed though and is injected fairly regularly into the mix so that as well as getting your foot tapping, your long, greasy locks will be swirling too. The prime cut of juggernaut is found on Cannibalistic Terror where the band frequently attempt to bulldoze you into the asphalt.
The brief is best policy is used here, not much exceeds three and a half minutes. There is an insistence to the song-writing, if you don’t get it straight away the band are quite content to beast their point into you. The way the riffs race is focused between fairly narrow constraints, nothing runs away with itself. Brief spikes of lead pierce the rhythm and the odd short solo lightning bursts across a track every now and then but for the most part its just heads down, no nonsense brutality.
The tracklist probably tells you all you need to know about subject matter. Needless to say, the vocals are grunted out in true collapsed larynx fashion, you can well imagine the nastiness belched out. Much of the song structure seems to be based around slapping you silly until you drop and then piling in the body kicks.
