In Brief: A masterpiece of drumming by German drummer Curt Cress
Cress worked both as a band member of several formations, as Klaus Doldingers Passport, Spliff, Snow Ball, Curt Cress Clan, as a guest on countless studio recordings and live performances of German and international artists as well, for example, Falco, Peter Maffay, Rick Springfield, SAGA and Tina Turner. Own solo releases, however, found relatively little attention. Cress was known as a producer, including for Uwe Ochsenknecht, Claudia Cane, Heiner Pudelko and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He continued to work as studio musicians, such as for Boney M., Hubert Kah, Cretu & Thiers, Alphaville, BAP, Inga & Annette Humphrey, Peter Cornelius, Juliane Werding, Marianne Rosenberg, Steel Dragon, Nicki, Wolfgang Michels, Meat Loaf, Scorpions, Far Corporation and Freddie Mercury.
Cress is also a name for himself as a television and film music composer. He has composed the music for the series SK Kölsch, The Red miles, HeliCops – use over Berlin or the telenovelas Bianca – Path to Happiness and Julia – Wege zum Glück. Cress is one of the composers music scene for the series Love in Berlin. He also worked for the scene and has among other things, the theme songs of the ARD Sports Show and Wetten, dass.? composed. For the feature film Bandits Cress was a playbackmusicians involved, the movements and characteristics was Katja Riemann as a template for her portrayal of a drummer. Since 2009, he stands with Chris Weller and Manuel Mayer for the music of the ZDF Telenovela Alisa – Follow your heart, responsible.
Curt Cress is since 2006 a professor at Hamburg University of Music and Drama, since 2004, he taught there.
