I remember a US band called CHARACTER from the 80s that released a couple of excellent demo tapes, but somehow they vanished into obscurity, and this CHARACTER surely isn’t the same band. This CHARACTER is coming out of California, and ‘Welcome to my world’ is their first CD (R). The band is playing typical independent melodic rock like I hear a lot lately from US underground bands, a bit like a lighter version of FIREHOUSE, yet without the big sound. Some rockers (“”True”” and “”Life on hold””) and a couple of (semi) ballads (“”Let it go”” and “”My love””) can be found throughout their CD. A nice record, but nothing sensational, although they have some potential to become better in the future.”
