It would be interesting to know if Samantha Hernandez, Chamber Seven’s vocalist has ever heard of Behi Bondage and her 70’s punk band Vice Squad. As on listening to Bacteria, to me it has a familiar style to it.The concept of making the lyrics indecipherable to the listener, to hide the rather school girl simplicity is somewhat damaged by including a lyric sheet.’Cast The First Stone’ and ‘Bacteria’ are nice fast punk numbers. ‘Vital Signs’ would also be a promising track, but the lame subject matter (death on an operating table) and ‘Go Into The Light’ terminology suck.’Hunted’, is a good solid track about revenge on would be rapist’s works well, but comes dangerously close to sounding like Hazel O’Connor.Names like Siouxsie Soux and Fields Of The Nephilim also come to mind with suicide ballad ‘Death By A Thousand Wounds’ with it’s atmospheric intro and Goth/Rock pace.’Release (Raquel)’ also follows the death is cool theme in the album.Chamber Seven show promise and the album lyrics although incomprehensible to the listener (this is no bad thing in places) are well delivered. Chamber Seven show that they have style and content and with a bit more work I am sure that we will be hearing a lot more from this band
