Still on a high after competing in the prestigious ‘Unsigned In The City’ event in Manchester, the town five piece have arranged a few gigs a bit closer to home. First up they are playing in Leamington Spa at Kelly’s bar, while other forthcoming dates include the Bull & Gate in Camden, London on November 21, and at the Coliseum in Coventry on February 1 next year. Badwater are Mark Cousins (vocals, guitar, keyboard), George Campbell (vocals, guitar), Ashley Wildman (lead guitar), Ryan Reed (bass) and Sam Mackey (drums). They have already attracted a loyal following with their brand of music which they describe as ‘blues/folk with an infusion of rock’. Band manager Karsten Fretter said: “Their greatest strength without doubt is their songwriting capabilities with no fillers in their live set, and dozens of songs waiting in the wings. “Their set is an eclectic collection of songs and melodies, showing great musical range and originality. “Considering the band is still in its fledgling stage, they have already spread their wings and have a collection of prestigious live gigs under their belts. “And with the band playing at various gigs across the country up until December, I can see their popularity growing with the exposure.” The band’s big night in the In The City Festival is on Monday, October 1, when they will perform a 30-minute set at the Zumbar venue on Oxford Road in Manchester. After the big one, they play Esquire’s in Bedford (Oct 6), Belushi’s in London (Oct 11), Zak’s in Milton Keynes (Oct 20), Kelly’s in Leamington Spa (Nov 8) and the Bull & Gate in Camden (Nov 21).
