Description

A perfect blend of old school metal with a new millennium sound. Full of power and aggression.

Pantera

Vessel Of Wrath by Voodoo Temple is a back to basics heavy metal CD that features straight ahead riffs and a heavy as hell back end. Vocalist Mike Mariotti has a vocal style very complimentary to that of Slayer and at times Glenn Danzig. Louie Borja plays his riffs with razor precision, very crisp and no frills whatsoever. Stu (bass) and P.J. Clevenger (drums) keep it simple, but most importantly heavy.

Closure is a track that deals with the issue of abuse and is wickedly simplistic in its message and delivery. Musically, Elements has the feel of Danzig within its grooves while Apostasy delves into a Black Sabbath dirge. The Nephilim sounds like what Metallica should have been doing on Load and Reload, very dark, thick and heavy. The faster-paced Theonomy show Voodoo Temple can mix the speed with the deliberate-paced tunes quite well. Borjas solo on this song steals the moment. The acoustic intro to Son Of Perdition gives way to a heavier track that recalls Wrathchild America. Closing track Valley Of Death is as grim and evil as the title suggests.

Anyone looking for fancy scale solos, screaming vocals and happy melodies has come to the wrong CD. Vessels Of Wrath has an old-school, back to basics metal approached void of any clichés.

Formed in 1997, Voodoo Temple has exploded onto the metal scene with all barrels blazing!! Not happy with the rap-metal/Alternative metal music that is so popular today, Voodoo Temple has taken to writing melodic, yet very powerful music that kicks the listener in the teeth. With the thunderous rhythms of PJ Clevengers drums and Stu Ridges bass carrying the melodic, heavy guitar of Louie Borja, lead singer, Mike Mariotti, tops off the music with his dynamic vocal ability. Voodoo Temple is a breath of fresh air for the true metal fans tired of trendy “nu-metal” bands that are popping up all over.
Full of power and melody, Voodoo Temples music is unique to the standard sound of today’s popular sound.
Voodoo Temple is taking power metal to a new level.

This is MAXIMUM in your face Heavy Metal. No Rap or Boing, Boing, Boing here. Just Metal the way it should be with each tract having its own individual appeal.
Voodoo Temple could and should be as big as Pantera.
