Austin, Texas-based psychedelic jam band Tia Carrera employ a very simple conceit on this three-track E.P. One 15-minute instrumental jam called “Heaven” has a garage-prog airiness, with an anthemic feel recalling a sloppy but optimistic Jimi Hendrix number. “Hell,” another 15-minute sprawl, bears a heavier, more oppressive and metallic sound. And the three-minute “End of Tape” is a decrescendo suitable for the last leg of the emotionally mixed-bag trip that precedes it.
