this project has some of the same Obituary influences along with more personal ones. The opener is in pure Obituary style with down tempo and muddy guitar sound (the main riffs is so similar to Back From The Dead song), while the following Balancing The Furies features grind attitude and blast beats too

The music is quite enjoyable, often spectacular, the riffs more catchy than in Obituary and the vocalist sounds close enough to Tardys vocals but with a more raw and less screamed touch. Even the drums sound is like the Obituarys one, on the snare drum in particular.

Lab Rats anyway has the privilege of being quite original with stopped tempo and always sludgy guitars sounds. The old influences in Messiah Pacified are very good and more audible, as on the title track. Pain Factor and Blood Maidens contain faster, grind tempo parts and more brutal growls. The last two, morbid, doom, rotten and muddy tracks put an end to an album that is recommended to any Obituary fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars trevor paris new project heavy,
this is good old school death metal and yea trevor brought the obituary guitar crunch with him.these song could easily have been obituary tunes but they are but still very good song and heavy

5.0 out of 5 stars the cleansing,
Catastrophic, which features someone from obituary (one of my first death metal bands) lets call him t.peres, no no thats much too obvious trevor p. (there that will do) and Pyrexia members. The cleansing is an absolute blast to listen to. From start to finish this cd kills. Trevor p sounds great and keiths vocals are simply punishing! My favorite thing about this CD is that there are NO filler songs on it, each song the perfect length and the songs get better as the cd progresses. The production on here is really clear and everything is mixed really well. From neck snapping speed to brutal breakdowns catastrophic has all the basses covered. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars very good album,
very good. This CD reminds me at times of Sinisters technique.
The drumming is interesting and creative, the guitars are great, the music writing is also very good. There are a lot of diverse songs. A lot of times with many albums many songs sound the same, same drum pattern, etc. The recording quality is very good (I’m picky about that sometimes). I recommend it for any metal fiend who likes pantera, sepultura, sinister, meshuggah, or similar.
